Privacy Policy

Hubaal Global Jobs is a recruitment platform operated for the Somali Region of Ethiopia and the wider Ethiopian and diaspora market. Our team is based in Jigjiga, Somali Region. You can contact us any time through the Contact page or by emailing privacy@hubaalglobaljobs.com.

We collect the following categories of personal information:

• Account data: name, email, phone number, password hash, chosen role (candidate, employer or admin).
• Profile data: location, education, industry, experience, skills, WhatsApp number, avatar image.
• CV data: uploaded CV files and/or CV text you paste for AI analysis.
• Employer data: company name, logo, description, verification documents you upload during onboarding.
• Activity data: jobs viewed, jobs saved, applications submitted, comments posted, reactions.
• Technical data: device type, browser, IP address (for security and rate limiting), pages visited.

We use your personal information only for legitimate recruitment purposes, including:

• Creating and securing your account and verifying your identity.
• Matching candidates with relevant jobs using our AI recommendation engine.
• Delivering applications and messages between candidates and verified employers.
• Preventing fraud, scams and abuse of the Platform.
• Improving the Platform, our content, and our regional coverage.
• Sending you notifications you have opted into (e.g. WhatsApp job alerts).

We only share personal data in a limited set of circumstances:

• Employers you apply to receive the information you chose to submit with your application (profile fields, CV, message).
• Service providers that host our infrastructure (Supabase for database and storage, Cloudflare for edge delivery, Google’s Gemini model for CV analysis when you opt in). These providers act as processors on our behalf.
• Legal authorities when we are required to by applicable law or a valid legal request.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal data to any third party.

Access to sensitive data is restricted through Supabase Row-Level Security (RLS) policies. CV files are stored in a private storage bucket and only accessible to their owner and, on application, to the specific employer the candidate applied to. Admin panels are only accessible to users with the admin role. Sessions are managed with secure, HTTP-only tokens. All traffic is served over HTTPS.

We keep account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove personal profile fields and revoke access to your CV within 30 days, except for records we are legally required to keep (for example, financial records related to paid subscriptions) or minimal audit records used for scam prevention.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct or update inaccurate information via your Profile page.
• Delete your account and associated personal data.
• Withdraw your consent to WhatsApp alerts or AI CV analysis at any time.
• Complain to your local data protection authority.

We use a small number of essential cookies and local-storage entries to keep you signed in, remember your language preference (Somali/English), your theme (dark/light) and your saved jobs. We do not use cross-site advertising cookies.

The Platform is intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you inside the Platform.
